This vinyl is really reasonably priced and I love that it is one of the more unusual colours. It arrived well packaged, undamaged and looks as described. It arrived late, due to Royal Mail's Festive rush, but was dispatched by the seller really quickly. When I contacted them to ask where it was, they replied really quickly with a helpful solution. A Must for Shannara Fans; Brooks' Best Book!
First King of Shannara is the perfect book to start the Shannara series, or the perfect book to read halfway through the series. I have read all of Terry Brooks' books, including the Magic Kingdom series (but let's not go there), and First King is my very favorite. I have read it five times so far, and enjoyed it more each time. If you are a fan of the Shannara series, this is the most important book to read as soon as possible. This book answers many questions faithful readers may have about the Shannara series, and gives excellent background information on many of your favorite characters. It also explains in entertaining detail some of the very important events (such as Shannara's failure to properly defeat the Warlock Lord) that were merely glossed over in the other ... First King of Shannara is the perfect book to start the Shannara series, or the perfect book to read halfway through the series. Finally, I enjoyed this book more because it breaks away from the Lord of the Rings influence that you can see so much in the first three Shannara books (Sword, Wishsong, and Elfstones of Shannara), and also in many of the later ones. Let's face it, some of Brooks' passages seem copied straight from LOTR; seeing as how Sword was written right after LOTR saw a huge revival, that is no wonder. In short, First King of Shannara stands on its own against all of Terry Brooks' other works; its simple style but incredible story make this a must have for any fantasy fan, and especially for a fan of Terry Brooks. If you are just now getting into the series, then you owe it to yourself to start at the beginning.

What a great Book!
I've always been a fan of the Terry Brooks-Shannara series but I was a little skeptical about this pre-quel. After reading the first chapter I was hooked and read the book from cover to cover in about 10 days! This is great writing and explains the Shannara series very well. Brooks does a good job of tying in another Shannara character so his audience can relate to the later novels. Wanted the Prequel to this series.
Some Students at our HS library love to read Terry Brooks books and I saw this book and knew that we did not have this book on hand. Wanted to keep the students reading and not having to wait to see that we might purchase this book someday. We have many of Brooks' books and it would have been some time before we purchased another but b/c of the cost and S&H were reasonable I decided to purchase and donate to our library.
