In excellent condition for age. These have MkIIA couplings, so pre-1959.
With a clean & service, replacement air horns & headlight/porthole "glasses" (12 of 14 missing - they always pop out), a new decal on the nose of the dummy A unit, fine scale wheels & repair of the chip at rear of powered A unit, these locos will be good to go for another 65 years!
These were VERY popular - Tri-ang made around 172,500 from 1954 onwards. Good ones now rare.

Has MkI power bogie with X04 motor so made 1954/5 (extra rare & quite valuable in this exc. condition) but motor still very strong & runs well. Built to last. Paint smears mentioned by seller came off easily with metho & cotton bud. Cleaned-up very well. New decals, air horns, missing windows, LED h/light & fine scale wheels now fitted. These bodies are so good I have bought 2 extra R.55 chassis on ebay so I can fit motors to both the dummy A and B units. A really great find. Very happy.
