    Classic German Romanticism by the Master

    Comparing classical music conductors is not everyone's cup of tea, but as a lifelong listener of classical music, I fall into that category. Wilhelm Furtwangler is one of the earliest conductors to be recorded, along with Arturo Toscanini and Leopold Stokowski. This is the most comprehensive collection of his recordings from the 1930's through 1954, when he passed away. Comprising 107 CDs, it is a massive collection.The recording quality is obviously not up to modern standards, but is always perfectly enjoyable for its historic content. Furtwangler is usually remembered for his romantic approach to conducting-he accentuates the emotional aspect of the music. So if you wish to experience the sounds of a famous and highly revered German mid-twentieth century conductor, this is your box set.
