My Ebay review of the score CD ‘Sabrina’ 11/6/15: I suddenly found I had three copies of this CD! John Williams does a heart-felt job at musically designing the 'atmosphere' of this score. Lush, full orchestral pieces that augment what I feel, although I'm in the minority, is a beautiful motion picture - fully able to stand on it's own when comparing it to the 1954 Bogart/Holden/Hepburn version. Not just a 'newer' version of the film, several parts were re-written, quite cleverly I might add, making it a rewarding experience and a compatible 'partner' to the earlier film. While Bogey did a great job, he seemed a little too old to play the love interest of Audrey Hepburn who was 25 at the time, while Bogey was 55. I know it works for a lot of people and it does for me too. But Harrison just seemed a more plausible match for Julia's 'Sabrina.' Apparently, this movie only made a couple million over the cost of producing it and was dubbed a 'box office flop' by some critics. Sydney Pollack did a fabulous job of directing the amazing talents of Harrison Ford and lovely 'rags to riches' Sabrina - Julia Ormond. Both are outstanding at what they do and Greg Kinnear does a wonderful job of playing David, the womanizing lackey "Who's life is made possible" by Harrison. "Oh, I didn't know you guys worked on Sunday?" "It's Wednesday David." While William Holden's (Probably my all-time favorite actor) David was flawless, Greg's was simply different. Again, a 'partner' to Holden's legendary performance. Especially touching, for me, was Mr. Williams full bore renditions of several 'old standards' like 'The Shadow of Your Smile,' 'Stella by Starlight', 'Call Me Irresponsible' and a few more contained in the dance sequences. 'Sting' kicks into the pot with his captivating 'In The Moonlight'. Very worthwhile. Another pleasure for me, was seeing Shawn Murphy in the credits - recording and mixing the score. Shawn and I worked for RKO in 1971 at KFRC AM/FM in San Francisco. Shawn is an amazing guy and has a list of awards as long as your arm. He basically recorded practically all the important film scores for many, many years in Southern California. Considering the price of the CD, it's a lot of entertainment for pennies a serving. I've wanted this CD from the time I first saw this Sabrina remake. Recently, I purchased the CD at a great price and I love the soundtrack as much as I love the movie!

Excellent movie. The music is so soothing! I absolutely love this CD. It makes me feel like I'm in another world. This is my peaceful music. It makes me feel like I'm living the life of the Larabee's in the movie Sabrina. Has that sophisticated feel to it. I've used it for dinner music and for just relaxing.
I seen both versions of the movie and loved the soundtrack to the second version. I just had to have it when I seen that it was on Ebay. I have a love for the "elevator music" type of stuff anyway.lol. But I love everything on this CD. Thanks for having it. ;)
