This THREE IN ONE VOLUME CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING BOOKS • Lord Foul's Bane - Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever (Book 1) Thomas Covenant is a writer who lives at Haven Farm in a small town and he is also a leper. One day he blacks out and ends up in 'the land' where he is suddenly filled with life and his leprosy is gone. Being a practical person he cannot believe what is happening to him and while in the land he refuses to go along with anything that happens earning him the title of the Unbeliever. Book one in this series introduces us to the lead character and give you an understanding of leprosy and it's impacts on the person who suffers from it. This is a great series that deals with a fantasy land that is full of magic, intrigue and violence. Donaldson wrote this book in 1977 and it was only a moderate success at the time but it has continued to sell over the years and has become a modern classic among science fiction and fantasy readers. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - • The Illearth War - Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever (Book 2) In book one we learned of Thomas Covenant, a leper who lived in a small town who was suddenly thrust into "the Land" where he has the power of White Gold. In this second book in the series Covenant is once again back in the land where he discovers that a very long time has passed in the land but only a few days have passed in his real life. He must travel through the land to discover what can be done to stop Lord Foul and put an end to the destruction that is taking place. Book three once again shows that Donaldson knows how to capture a reader and make him want more If you have not read this series I highly recommend it. It is a bit dark in nature and is a bit rough in its style but overall is a great book. Rated 5 of 5 for a great story that leaves you wanting more.Read full review
