About this product

Product Information

The supernatural shooting series known as F.E.A.R., short for First Encounter Assault Recon, makes its third entry on consoles with a single-player campaign and two-player cooperative action. In both modes, you will control the genetically enhanced soldier from the original game, Point Man, who has the power to alter time. Also available in the co-op mode is Point Man's scheming brother, Paxton Fettel, who uses the power of telekinesis to resume "life" as an undead spirit.

The story once again centers around Point Man and Paxton's mother, Alma Wade, whose psychic powers have created an alternate dimension filled with ghastly creatures and other horrors. To combat the paranormal, players can enter slow-motion combat, utilize 360-degree cover, and more. F.E.A.R. 3 also features a mechanic called the "generative scare system," which introduces random events designed to keep players on edge. Developer Day 1 Studios consulted with famed director John Carpenter for the in-game cinematics and horror writer Steve Niles to assist with the script.

An OK follow up to the great Fear 1 and 2.

Ok, Fear 1 and Fear 2 are in fact better games IMO. But this offers you more of the franchise but its not nearly as good as the first two entries. But its not bad either, kind of lost the FEAR part of the game and the AI enemies are weaker. But its a decent shooter game and adds more to the story.

  • Good couch co op shooter for $10 that will last 5-7 hours, no more no less

Good FPS because the second player can control enemy bodies and use their weapons! other than that not as scary as the others, and also the splitscreen is letterbox vertical? So you don't get much of the screen when you do couch co-op but I was ok with that my TV was big enough, there is no option to change it we looked! Also the game is rather short probably will take you about 6 to 8 hours together to beat it, and the multiplayer is OK, but I would get it for the campaign couch co op! You can both play without xbox live. Shooting is fun but the game can get difficult at times, not too bad if you are use to shooters you will figure out a simple run and gun strategy that works especially because fettel can take over bodies! Cool concept they should use more often in co op.

  • Maybe not great but quite good!

Not finished it yet. Like the second one better. 3 gets alot of hate and I think it's a complimentary game for a fps lovers collection. I honestly don't think it is that bad and for the price it can be had for, worth the couple of bux it costs!

  • Fun game!

The story line continues to be enthralling! A creepy game with challenging gun play; an excellent sequel!

  • good game, still buggy should have delayed release, should have delayed rls

good game, has what I would call some hick ups in it though, several spots where things do work as they should, not as good of a play as FEAR 2, the controls are not real stable, hard to aim at times, there has been times where I have came up on someone and shot them point blank, 3-4 times and nothing happened, just like I had missed them or something, so just buggy, but it's a good play outside of that, kind of like COD mixed with FEAR, if they fixed the bugs I'd be thrilled, and only being able to have 2 weapons suck
