The Garmin Street Pilot 2730 replaced my Street Pilot 2620 which I sold to my Brother-in-Law for his sales job. BTW, he LOVES the 2620 as I did. The readily apparent improvements that the 2730 has over the 2620 is the audio interface. FM output is marginal in the big cities (Houston), but the headphone jack going to an adapter for either line in, or tape deck adapter, do quite well. It is nice to play mp3's and have the navigation voice pause the music to give directions and the music resumes where it left off. There is enough memory for quite a good amount of music. The remote control is upgraded with more functions. The remote function is the only thing about the 2730 that I have a dislike with. The navigation button in the center doesn't function like and [enter] button as the 2620 did. You have to navigate to the [done] box and then enter. It is somewhat distracting at times. The 3D display function is annoying and turning it bad to 2D was the first adjustment I made to the unit. The resolution of the screen is good, color is good. The accuracy of the navigations are a 7 on a 10 scale. There are some mis-steps, at which time my wife berates on my "Brittish whore-in-the-box". The Austrailian accent is also quite sexy. Finding points of interest is still very easy. I really love this feature. All in all, I give it an 8.Read full review
This is one of the better GPS. What makes this GPS worth some money is the fact that it has the ability to get Sat. radio if you have the GXM-30 antenna. It also has the storage of around 400 songs. Now for the bad it isn't supported for any new maps, and if you did get the last map that it came out with then you use all of it hard drive and that means loss of all songs and some of its functions. Now if you want it like I do for the Sat. radio for a MC then this one will give you that. I have two and also have the antenna's with them. Any 2730 without the antenna is not worth much. With the antenna it is well worth the price. Look up the antenna's you will find they trend for 80 to 100 dollars.

This is my second 2730 and I also still have my 2720. I like the 2720 very much but the 30 has a few features I really like. The XM potential is great but the mp3 player is just fine for music for me. It's easy to set up with playlists and it is nice when your listening to music how the driving directions cut through. The buttons are big and mine seem to respond to my gloved finger prompts. It is accurate, has few false leads or spin-arounds--when the little car gets confused and behaves erratically and it has a pleasant array of languages and accents. The extra features are a god send when you need gas in a hurry or eats. It's overall big size is a plus to me but I have a good Techmount with the ram mount holding the 2730. Probably the reason I haven't moved on to something else (probably that will be the 550 when I do.) I think this is one of the best made units for Motocycle use. Can't go wrong at the prices they can be had for now. L O Riley Once in a while it seems to take for ever to acquire satellites.Read full review
The Garmin products are wonderfull, and the Street Pilot is a wonder choice for the motorcycle. The maps are far superior to other GPS, the screen colors and layout is wonderful. The only problem with Garmin, is their customer service. It is by far the the worse i've ever seen. By purchasing a Garmin here on Ebay or from any other 2nd hand party you run the risk of the unit being registered with another user or being stolen. If that is the case you can not update the maps until it is unregistered and register in your name. Garmin will not unregister a product for you, will not assist you in anyway with contacting the person it is registered to and will insult you and be as rude as possible when you call them. When you do call their customer service, be prepared to be on hold for a min. of 35 min but most likely up to 45-60 min. In summary, Great product, be sure it is unlocked, and don't bother with their horrible customer service.Read full review
I bought this Garmin product because I owned a 'refurbised' one just like it (til it was stolen)and it performed 'flawlessly'. However, I'll never buy another 'used' electronic item again. This GPS product starts out working good until it gets hot, then it jumps around through the screens and 'skips' the screen I need. I performed a 'Hard Reset' (to factory defaults), but did not help. The MP3 feature & internal transmitter work great, but makes a mighty expensive MP3 player. It doesn't give accurate mapping information once it begins acting up & seems to act up just when I need it most. If it were 'new' or 'refurbished' I'm sure my review would be a lot better. Just be wary of buying 'USED' electronics from anyone.
