It (The Personal Trainer CD) allows students to have active, hands-on experience with numbers, distributions and concepts. This can be an extremely helpful tool for teaching statistics., I definitely consider CBS Personal Trainer a valuable tool! What a wonderful addition to the text. Students will love this, and my suspicion is that their understanding of statistics will be vastly greater with the various tools provided in the CBS Personal Trainer., Features like Connections, Homework Tips, Cumulative Review and of course Eyeball Estimation illustrate Hurlburt's attention to student learning and help to distinguish the text from other, comparable texts. The writing style is clear, student-oriented, and obviously meant to be read. Many statistics books are simply transitions between formulas, but Hurlburt does a nice job of maintaining the big picture. I've never found another book that is simultaneously conceptual and practical, while maintaining crystal clarity., "Hurlburt's text is, without question, the single best textbook for introductory statistics on the market. There are many things that make Hurlburt's textbook special. Most important is the clarity of organization and especially of the writing. Students (and I!) appreciate this. Another key feature that sets Hurlburt's book apart from all others is the focus on eyeball estimation. And now with the addition of CBS Personal Trainer, the selection of an introductory statistics book is truly a "no brainer."
