Why did I wait to buy this. My first sawsall, so I may be biased but man it works great. Main purpose I used it for was to take apart pallets for projects. Used to use a hammer and wrecking bar to disassemble, ended up wrecking more than necessary. Finally broke down and bought this one from the reviews. More than worth the money. Inserted the blade (super easy) and went to cut through the first nails. Like using a warm knife on warm butter. went through so easily that I darned near cut my leg. Very little vibration, light enough to use. Went through 3 pallets in 10 minutes. Would have been done sooner if I would have had someone to help! Great product, highly recommend.

This saw is outstanding. First is not heavy, so that means is easy to manage. Changing the blades is a breeze. Just by turning the blade holder, you can insert easily a blade or replace it. It manages to cut with easy dry branches less than 3.5 inches or to cut metal not thicker than 1- inch. It performs very well, depending how faryou dpress the trigger in the handle. I do recommend it, specially for its 5 years warranty. It is best especially if you you are going to cut wooden materials used in home constructions. Just follow the instructions manual and you will be able to handle any task easily.

I'm very adamant about sawzalls, cannot and will not do certain work without this. I am a plumber in NYC and this sawzall for the work that I do is absolutely required and necessary. It's very light and smaller than the other sawzalls I have came across. A major key is it can fit into most tight spots so I can cut out extra heavy cast iron starter fittings AND without disturbing further plumbing because it doesn't vibrate/shake like other zalls. The only con about this product is that it's discontinued!

Been using an earlier version sawzall since 2000. It started to fail, with intermittant operation. I purchased this new 6509-31 and was blown away by the operation of it. It totally cuts through steel like nothing. Plenty of power and does not bog down under a load. My only regret is, that I didn't buy a new one sooner!

This is a tool built to last for years of seriously hard work. It is a perfect replacement for my last Sawzall, which lasted through 32 years of supporting me as an industrial electrician. The blade changes are fast with the quick release, and the motor is strong enough to get you through the toughest cuts. I like that the entire saw is sturdy, which helps to get the tip of a wood blade precisely into a flat surface without a pilot hole (aka: Plunge Cut). The exterior also does not deteriorate from being covered in cutting oil from those thick metal cuts.
