While I somewhat like that this game was almost identical to another ST:TNG title over on the Sega Genesis because I no own my Genesis or that other game, I can't help but feel jipped by the company who made this cartidge. The game is fine, but I was psyched to play an all new ST:TNG adventure. Instead, all I got was an alternate version that focused on slightly different things than it's Genesis counterpart. Overall, this is a fun game, if only for the way the space battles are done... though I am sorry, but Genesis did do them better. All in all, I recommend this game to any Star Trek fan but you can skip this version if you own or beat the Genesis version as they are essentially the same game savee for the titles. Game incorporates away missions, space travel including course plotting, space battle including ability to focus ship resources toward the various systems you'd like upkept most. For instance, you can stengthen your Aft shields specifically at the cost of life support or hull integrity or impulse engines and such things like that. Music is ok, and most of the main cast is here. Picard, Riker, Troi, Date, Geordi, Worf. Not sure if Beverly is in, but I think not except for in cut scenes(at least on Genesis version if I recall). So yeah, buy this game, it's overall worth busting out your SNES for a weekend or two!Read full review
At it's core, this is a very simple puzzle game. you recieve missions, lay in a course and speed, fight enemy ships along the way and solve basic puzzles when you get to your destination. the controls take a bit of getting used to and the personal combat system leaves much to be desired but all in all, considering the system it's a pretty well put together game. Caution: I recommend this game only for the nerdy at heart
This game takes me back. Good stuff

TNG is an excellent television series. This video game not so much. Game play can be a bit dull. I bought this product for a friend of mine; I tried it out and was a bit disappointed.
I wouldn't recommend this for any non Star Trek fan. But if you enjoy the Star Trek Universe and enjoy solving puzzles (not horribly complex but some of them will make you think). I would give this game a try, its incredibly cheap by todays standards, so if you don't like it your only out a couple dollars. But for a majority of the people I think you will be glad you gave it a shot.
Over all the game is alright. It's not extremely exciting and the graphics aren't great, just what you would expect from a game made in 1991. I think it takes too long. Some parts are boring and others are slightly hard and confusing. Not my favorite.
I'm a big fan of the Star Trek Next Generation

I am a huge Trekie, and I was very disappointed with this game. It is just a puzzle game with star trek characters. The puzzles are pretty hard as well. You could have stuck any characters and created this game. I understand that things are limited for Super Nintendo, but it just wasn't a star trek game.
The Game was Not Fun to Play. The Music can not be turned Off and Becomes Very Annoying. There are definitely Better Star Trek Games than this one..........................................................................
