About this product

Product Information

Tennis fans can treat their Wii Remote like a racket to serve and volley their way through 23 world class competitors as they attempt to capture the sport's four major championships in Grand Slam Tennis. Players begin "Grand Slam Career" mode by creating and customizing a character, then traveling to Australia, France, Wimbledon, and New York to take on some of history's greatest tennis stars, including Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, Serena Williams, Bjorn Borg, and John McEnroe. Wii MotionPlus is fully integrated into the game, and gamers must learn to master each real-life stroke in order to conquer a variety of challenges and boost their character's skills. Those looking for human competition can head online to play with created characters or any of the 23 included stars, or they can join friends for a dozen different mini-games in "Tennis Party" mode.

    Awesome product, great value

Awesome product that keeps you interested and motivated to try to beat whomever you are playing against. Great graphics and sound effects. You can actually do trick shots, but you must be careful as the computer or other player can do the same. I have been searching for this game for a very long time (I had it before but broke it) and it has always been extremely high priced until now.

  • Very fun tennis game with good controls!

Very good tennis game. Some reviewers complain about the difficulty of timing the shots and that the motion + is not 1 to 1, but I did not see any problems with the controls other than the occasional misswing or directional error. These problems were caused by my error more so than a controller malfunction. The online play is very fun, and I have found other people to play very quickly. My 3 year old was able to hit against the ball machine so the playability factor for young kids is very good. I would like to see games like this have a non-motion control option like mario kart wii uses. I think that would add to the game a good bit. It could use more options like a career mode and online tourneys, but if they put it all in the first one, then why would we buy the next?!?!

  • GST is finicky, but REALLY FUN!

Negative: The controls do not easily switch from forehand to backhand, do not always default to the most natural position. That leaves the player making an awkward forehand, for instance, when the player is set up perfectly for a backhand. And some times the player runs past the ball for a forehand when a real player would run less and hit a backhand. It just takes getting used to it. Positive: The graphics are amazing and the rally/volley switching is a hoot. Attacking the net is fun! Gaining new skills is a fun way to break up tournament play. This game is THE tennis vid for Wii. After a couple weeks you'll want to turn off the commentary, though.

  • CHALLENGING TENNIS GAME

I am still learning all the maneuvers, but it is a great challenging game, which is what I wanted. I look forward to playing it! Really gives you a work-out, even though not actually on the court. Well worth the price. When I wear this one out, will purchase again!!!

  • Fun with Flaws

The game is very fun and especially good if you enjoyed wii tennis on wii sports. The game has some trouble registering certain shots. For example, hitting a top spin shot to the right side of the court with your forehand is especially difficult (if you're right handed). I haven't tried on-line yet but I hear it's very good. For a party game, my friends and I get a big kick out of this.
