Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in iPods & MP3 Players
This is the only player that costs less than $150 that is any good (I've tried many different players and returned most of them). The sound quality is excellent, video quality is as well, I love how it records the radio so I can remember a song I like, and it's indestructible. Battery life is excellent as well. It's also easy to use, I recommend it to anybody looking for a good alternative to an iPod. It will do well for absolutely anybody, young or old. We have two of these since we liked the first one so much.
I had this exact model of mp3 player for years before the battery finally gave out and would no longer charge. Unfortunately, mp3 players fell out of fashion during that time, and the new ones didn't have speakers, playlist functions, hold buttons, or whatever else I found useful that this model all happened to have. So, after years of looking, I bought the same type again. I wanted a player just for music, since it takes up so much space on a phone, and this is still the perfect player for me!

I bought the Sony walkman NWZ_S545 to replace an older 4gb Sony Walkman that I accidentally washed. I love the easy to use features. I like the control of dragging and dropping mp3s into folders and sub-folders. I considered an IPOD but really do not like the control of itunes. I often plug my Sony from my laptop to my desktop and even ny computer at work and I can access the mp3s without losing any of them, or worring if I have the most current Itune software. My older sony did not have external speakers, and I am surprised to find this is an option I do use and like. Not real loud but nice on the nightstand. Battery life is phenominal. If I could change one thing about the NWZ-S545 it would be where the head phones plug in. I prefer the plug be at the top so when you are holding it to fast forward skip or reverse the wire not come under your hand as I have accidentally unplugged my headphones while on the treadmill. Overall I am extremely pleased with my purchaseRead full review
Right off the bat I was pleased with the sound coming out of my walkman. I use an upgrade pr of earbuds and the music really was clear (and loud). The radio works well, better than the one on my Sony E345 did. The battery lasts much longer on this player than my old one did, also. I read somewhere that you should wait until the battery is totally depleted before charging and that is what I have been doing, and I go days between charging. I don't do videos so can't really comment on that. The fact that this player has external speakers is really a plus, and although sounding a little tinny, are amazingly good (turn player away from you for best sound from externals). The fact that there is a silicone protective case (w/ armband slot) available is a plus. Oh, did I mention the 16gb of memory? I've got all the songs off my computer and from my cousins kids computer and still have a ton of space available. Sony has always been my preferred listening device, whether in the car, through a portable stereo, or on a bike ride, they deliver. Yeah, I'd recommend this player to just about anyone.Read full review
I bought this a present for my wife for Christmas. I have mixed reviews of it though. I went by the lable, and not the actual product itself. The picture quality is A+. It's great drag and drop interface is superb, once you download the necessary updates to make the software work, which they don't even tell you about. The overall casing and buttons seem to be dependable and long lasting, but is it worth the money? Unfortunatly, Sony payed more attention to the iPod phenominon and neglected one of their leading inventions from the early 80's. Go out and try to find a docking station for this MP3 player and it is nearly impossible! Everything is for the iPod/iPhone! There isn't even an adaptor they sell that would be able to use this with all the available speaker systems that are available for iPod. TO me this seems to be a simple solution, but Sony refuses to do it so they can again manipulate the public into buying the more expensive iPod. Comparetivly, I have seen many new no-name brands offering all the same features, yet bigger screen displays, and much larger memory, as well as removable memory for much less money. The durablity may lack in those units, but as far as features, I would think Sony of all people would be able to match those at least, and deliver them to the public at the same price and still be competitive. Back in the early 90's Sony pulled a fast one on the public by warehousing Nintendo games they said were "behind in production" in order to drive the price up on them. People were paying hundreds and sometimes thousands for games that they were told were not available. Then after the warehouses were discovered, they were fined, but seems they only got a smack on the wrist. People are too caught up in the "label" on things these days, being afraid of trying new products. Before Sony became a big name, remember they were small too, and the Walkman was one of the things that gave them a big name. My suggestion is to shop around and try new products instead of always buying the same old, same old. Give the other little guys a chance, and it will show these big guys that they got away with it for too long!Read full review
