About this product

Product Information

The year is 2084 and mankind has fallen victim to its own creation, a race of sentient robots called Robotrons. Originally designed to serve man, the Robotrons have turned on their creators and are determined to kill or reprogram all humans, turning the "lucky" survivors into evil mutants. Armed with an anti-robot laser containing an endless supply of laser beams, you alone must shoot wave after wave of robots. (You can shoot and run in all directions.) Along the way, you can score extra points by saving human clones.

The field of play in Robotron 2084 is basically a two-dimensional rectangle cluttered with small, simply drawn characters. There are three kinds of basic robots: Mindless Grunts, Indestructible Hulks, and Giant Brains. Other enemies include Galvanizing Electrodes, Cubic Quarks, Torturing Tanks, and Sinister Spheroids and their deadly spawn. You can play the game with one controller, or if you want to help recreate the original 1982 Williams arcade game experience, hook two controllers together using the enclosed plastic tray.

  • Awesome game on Atari 5200!

Robotron 2084 is another arcade game that was brought over to the Atari 5200. This game plays very well on the Atari 5200, but it uses a strange controls for the game. The arcade version used two joysticks one to move around and the other for firing. To play Robotron on the Atari 5200 you need two controller. Controller one moves you around and controller two fires with the joystick. This can be tricky at first, but with a little practice it is no problem. Robotron 2084 is easy find and affordable, so if you don't have it yet I recommend you get it for your collection.

  • Currioded inside but once cleaned it works perfectly

This is an excellent port of the arcade classic Robotron 2084 for the Atari 5200 supersystem. But when I first received the acrid he the label had imperfections in it but the biggest problem was that I had to take the cartridge apart to get to the contacts so I could sand them down so they would make a good contact with the cartridge could make a good contact with the cartridge connector inside my Atari 5200 System and the plastic was so brittle on the cartridge that the little clamps came off the end of the cartridge casing. But I’m going to buy another cartridge to replace that one
