Well worth acquiring if you have an interest in bop (or post-bop) music!
As McGhee did not have an extensive discography, all of his recordings take on some degree of added importance. Although not my absolute favorite of his (that's a toss-up between the Savoy stuff, Dusty Blue, and Maggie's Back in Town), this is a very enjoyable CD that's highly recommended. The only drawback is that this issue is becoming increasingly difficult to track down. Well worth acquiring if you have an interest in the be-bop or post-bop style (i.e., music that had not yet formed into the classic hard bop sound).
