    Netgear Modem

This modem was easy to set up with Comcast on line. Just check the Comcast acceptable device page on their support page for the type of modem you need for the internet service you have with them. Ordered this modem thru EBay and picked up at my local Best Buy. Quick and easy.

Not fast enough for Xfinity X1 Platform...

This cable modem is okay for regular internet, from the participating cable provers but, not for the newer speeds of Xfinity X1 platform... My newly purchased unit would drop signal in a 2-bedroom condominium when, walking away from the G & N highspeed router I owned... So, I returned this Netgear CM400A for a Motorola/Arris SB6141B model problem solved... Since then, I have upgraded my highspeed router to a yes Netgear AC1200 WiFi 3.0 DOCS IS unit and now my speeds are faster than my cable provider's issued dual cable modem/router unit! Cha-ching will save a good $120.00 a year in South FL... Regards, Rubén G.

  • Very simple, NO wifi functionalities

In initially thought it has wifi functionalities, but it is so simple just one ethernet port!

  • Works fine with Time Warner Cable

I purchased this modem to avoid TWC's monthly modem fee. It was easy to setup (anyway, I am not a rookie) and works fine. I would only say that it heats up too much, though it never stopped working.

  • Easy set up and great performer.

What a gem. Price, value and performance was better than expected. So easy to set up--our cable provider made the transition tough as they were reluctant to lose their monthly rental fee from us. The modem will pay for itself in about 4 months....love it!

  • A good modem to get rid of your rental fee

My internet provider is Mediacom. This modem works well so far. Five stars.

  • Hook up

I have a version of comcast that comes free with the rent in a senior center. The Comcast modem has no specific place to plug into it. Anyone know any tricks I might try?

  • Just what the network needed

Now I can stream movies with the best of them. My modem was old and slow. Buffering was all that I saw when streaming. But now there is a new modem in the house. Kicking butt and playing movies. New modem lived up to the advertisement and here to stay.

  • noticeably greater range

I don't use the 5Hz band, but that might be useful for a crowded apartment complex. The signal level at the furthest point in our house was substantially greater than the previous router. And the peak throughput is higher.
