Cover requires a lot of strength to close
Requires a lot of pressure to completely make the cover snap closed. If you are weak or not very heavy you may not be able to close the cover to vacuum seal. My friend bought the identical one and was going to return it, until I told her to put her whole body weight into closing the cover. I cannot say enough good things about this unit! It out-performs all other brands of vacuum sealers! A vacuum sealer is THE ONE kitchen appliance that pays for itself. I buy just about everything in bulk, portion it into usable amounts, and vacuum seal. You can take advantage of meat and seafood sales, store garden produce, and home made sausage. It does a great job in vacuuming. The top part the closes down to start the process is hard to close all the way. But once closed, it does a great job. I also use the hose to vacuum zipper bags. That to does a great job. The vacuum unit is heavy, which is good and not some light weight cheap unit. Excellent vacuum sealer for the money!
I just received this vacuum sealer, tried it out and it works great! I sealed some coffee to start with to see about the vacuum force and all the air was quickly pulled out of the bag. Vacuum was fast, not a lot of noise and sealed quickly as well. Very happy so far with this vacuum sealer and about half the price of the newest model.
