About this product

Product Information

The Vintage Tube Monster Vt999 is an effects pedal that features the warm rich sound of a 12AX7 vacuum tube. This guitar pedal, based on a hand-picked 12AX7 vacuum tube, is a classic tube overdrive pedal with a three-band equalizer for musical sound-distortion and tone shaping. This Behringer guitar effect pedal has an integrated gate with adjustable threshold to render musically perfect noise-free signals. LED indicators for effect On/Off and true hardwire bypass for signal integrity are other useful features of the Vintage Tube Monster Vt999. This robust guitar pedal enables musicians to explore the full range from a warm bluesy overdrive to massive distortion. The full-toned Behringer guitar effect pedal runs on DC power.

  • BEHRINGER VT999 VINTAGE TUBE MONSTER Classic Vacuum Tube Overdrive

Bought a used unit when it arrived the Bugera 12ax7 tube was shattered .No big deal I hear their sound leaves a lot to be desired anyways. Since then I've been experimenting with various tubes with different gain properties trying to see which I like best, All in all it's well made and is an asset to those with a less than desirable solid state amp that needs a little distortion for a pick me up.Yes I would recommend this ,and it's also reasonably priced,

RIGHT ON! EXCELLENT PRICE. Excellent condition, New in box, No scratches, Owners manual. I would have paid more than I did had there not been an offer for a refurbished unit. I am very happy. It makes my amp sound tubed. I use it with a Caline Tantrum distortion pedal. I play through a Marshall BiChorus Valve state. It makes a big improvement for a amp that isn't tubed. I am very impressed with the sound I now have. I can click it off and use just the Tantrum and the sound isn't near as good. I really like what I hear.

  • Sounds like a tube because - well, it's a tube!

Behringer's low prices are largely thanks to some ingenious assembly techniques designed to be quick with no sacrifice in durability - don't let their low prices fool you. It's very decent gear with great specs. To save stage space I built my 999 into a Morley volume pedal. A little more gain would be nice, but I admit to using cheaper pickups that may not be very hot. For about $60, this is one of the best deals out there - true bypass too!

  • Behringer VT999

I play in a praise band at church. We try to cut down on stage volume. I bought this originally to use as a preamp to run my guitars through a DI box for a signal boost. It works great, not to mention they fact the sound is warm and clean. It also has a great bluesy sound and a great pedal added to my other pedals. If you're looking for radical, this is not it. I have radical and it mixes well.

  • Great tube tone for a great price!

Get rid of the Chinese tube in this thing and replace it with a high- quality 12 ax7 and this thing really rips! Very responsive EQ, and an amazing Noise Gate! Well built metal chassis and highly visible indicator lights. Considering most tube distortion pedals on the market go for upwards of $175 to $250, for $30 to $50 this thing is great!

  • Great foundation. Change tube for mellower blues-grade overdrive.

I like a mellower overdrive sound. This product comes shipped with a Bugera 12AX7 tube installed. I thought it was a little shrill, and the gain knob was already spikier than I like at about 1.5. I replaced it with a $14 JJ 12AU7, with about 1/5th the gain, and I am very pleased with the sound. I am getting really great american-style overdrive tones through a Jazz Chorus amplifier. The gain knob is now usable up to about 3.5, and there is a palette available in that range. Best $64 [total] spent on guitar gear ever, I think. Pair this with a volume or clean boost pedal, and you really have something. I have also ordered the BitMo mod [$23 delivered], which should make that gain knob have even greater useable range.

  • Tube warming power

Very useful for adding tube sound and warmth while the noise Gate is very useful. Used in conjunction with other overdrive it sounds awesome.

  • True MONSTER

I've put this through Marshall 50 watt,a bassman, and a 10 watt fender and man this thing screams, like a tube amp in a pedal box, what a huge sound, plus the noise gate cleans it up nice . Bitchin is the word for it, get one you'll love it!!!

  • Holy Marshall

This pedal is the best marshall in a box I've ever used because of the 12ax7, which with a midboost just sings classic high gain overdrive bordering on flaming distortion.

  • Tube swap this bad boy

The stock tube is a joke. Put a nice 12au7 in it and this thing really opens up. All in all a fantastic sounding unit for a great price
