Best from Bruce for a long time.

Easy listening, a singalong to CD
As with all CD's some songs you like a lot, some not so much, It's different to the norm, not his usual style, a bit more country which I don't mind.Will have to listen to it a few times to make full judgement. Springsteen hits one out of the Park
Great songs, great lyrics and Bruce's voice is on top form. As a life long fan there are at least three songs here I would add on any Springsteen best of I would compile. It is a very specific sound and mood he is going for here and whilst clearly being very 'Spingsteeny' is very different from previous works. One never seems to be surprised at what "The Boss" does with his work. Not a Nebraska or River
When I read a review in the paper they were comparing some of the songs to those on the albums Nebraska and the River. For me nothing comes close to the quality of those two albums, I find the music too loud for the lyrics a lot of the time and it doesn't have the emotions of earlier work (and I include Darkness on the Edge of town). Inspired listening.
Although it was actually ordered this wonderful CD, it was actually part of my Birthday presents from my son & as a longtime fan of Bruce Springsteen this particular album was a definite change of direction for him.
