The Only Solution!
Plain and simple it is the only solution to equipment in a system with the same ir codes. You would think that manufacturers in todays world of multiple monitors would provide several ir choices in each product, but they don't. It's a primitive, but cheap way of solving the problem. And it's old. But it works. Use to be a real pain to pair hit or miss. Now it pairs in the program, made setup pretty easy. Only hassle is when updating changes to remote you must update extender. It's a pain but has to be done. When making updates to remote try to think of everything you need to do and take the time to do it so you minimize trips back and forth to rack and disconnecting extender each time to update it. And also keep in mind it is for now outdated remote units. However, they are ... Plain and simple it is the only solution to equipment in a system with the same ir codes. unfortunately product for USA
The power supply is made for USA eg american Plug. I had to adapt to a Swiss connector. The remote unit did not work as a replacement of my defective unit. Fortunately the power supply works okay.

Harmony 1100 wireless extender
I have been an avid fan of logitech remote control and was sadden when they phased it out. It is a good shape and does not get lost down the side of the sofa. Now I have just purchased a TV cabinet where everything fits perfectly, dvd player, Sky box etc etc and as the harmony works on line of sight I have to leave the doors open for it to work. So wanted a work around and the harmony wireless extender was the perfect answer. Note been warned. In the UK the product has been phased out but you can still buy them (new) in the U.S. so promptly purchased the extender and waited for it to arrive. Unfortunately it doesn't work as the frequency used abroad is different to the UK. Contacting logitech, they give a stock answer and don't really care.
