As professional users move to full frame in the meagapixel race or go smaller with compact interchangeables, now is the time to buy used pro grade Olympus four-thirds equipment at reasonable prices. Following this plan has given me, a complete amateur, the chance to buy excellent kit at a price that I can afford. I have no regrets. If you only have the money for one Olympus Zuiko pro-grade lens, buy this one. I bought this lens in good used condition to go with my used Olympus E3 camera body. I am delighted with it. This is a fast lens with a relatively wide 5 times zoom range, making it very versatile. I find the speed of this lens very useful for informal available light shots. I like the 12mm wide angle (24mm full frame equivalent) for landscapes and building interior shots. Mid range, it has a sufficiently wide aperture for differential focus portrait shots, whilst at 60mm (120mm full frame equivalent) it provides a useful telephoto range. As many magazine reviews will testify, the optical quality of this lens is impeccable. I particularly like the sharpness. The zoom is smooth, the SWD focus system is super fast and the lens has mechanical manual focus. These are the kind of features I have come to expect from Olympus Zuiko and I only notice when absent. Although it will fit on any four-thirds camera body, this is inevitably a fairly heavy and bulky lens and fits best on a larger camera, such as the Olympus E3 for which it was designed. When used with the E1, E3 or E5 it is also fully weather and dust proof, which I find comforting. Would I still chose to buy it? At the right price, definitely yes.Read full review
This is an amazing lens, unfortunately I missed reading the owner's description and I use micro 4/3 so I managed to sell the lens for me on on Ebay.

The quality and build of the lens is excellent, it is worth shopping around for as prices can vary. Have used the lens extensively on a recent trip to Egypt, the lens was able to be used in difficult light and landscape photography. My best purchase to date.
as a pro photographer I bought this Lens to enhance my Equipment. only it makes a winding or better said a grinding noise when on AF,which I never experienced with other ZUIKO Digital Lenses, maybe due to that I have bought the Lens as slightly used thats why it has been sold with this slight defect by the seller.
Bought to replace olympus14-54 and it shines.
