FIrst, it's 3D. 2nd, it's Dr. Strange, and they did an awesome job bring Steve Ditko Dr. Strange extra dimensional world to life. The character is a bit updated, but they mixed just the right amount of humor with the character origin story. The only thing they have to do 'next' is make the character 'cool and in control' all the time, the 'master of the mystic arts' a bit more than the 'struggling to figure things out' character that makes a lot of sense in the 1st movie but wouldn't moving forward. There was nothing in the movie I can think of I didn't like, it was awesome. Acting. Script. Effects. Filming. And great 3D. Must watch for comic fans (especially those of us that grew up Dr. Strange fans) and especially a must watch in 3D.

My only regret was not seeing the movie in Imax-3D when it came out, instead settling for the digital release. The movie was very entertaining, with several laugh out loud moments. The special effects cgi scenes were nicely done and believable. Another staple in the Marvel cinematic universe, and I look forward to when Dr. Strange meets Tony Stark!! The after credit scenes were good also. When this came out for Blu ray release, the 3D version was hard to find and with good reason. Looks fantastic on my PS VR!!!

Great for 3D viewing. I found the CGi effective yet at times reminded me of the 2010 film Inception. The story line did keep me interested throughout. Basic battle of good and evil which is a standard for Marvel movies. I did enjoy Tilda Swinton as the ancient one. Cumberbatch is Dr. Strange. Very little of McAdams, seemed to play a minor roll. If there are to be sequels, I would however miss Swinton. Not a lot of out of frame 3D, but, still worthy enough for 3D viewing. In my opinion, 3D is always at its best when it extends beyond the frame.

I've read some of the long winded ridiculously self important reviews. Here's my two cents: as a kid I grew up on the Bronze Age of Comics and I always had a soft spot for the lesser known titles like Dr. Strange, I loved the original Defenders (Hulk, Dr. Strange, and Namor) back when the Avengers and X-men ruled the comic super teams. So to see all the MCU characters come to life on the big screen is truly a fantastic experience. And best of all because of the constraints of film there is a beginning, middle and end in every movie, like the old comic stories. In the end the morality tale of good conquering evil comes through. So I am writing this to the old school fans of Dr. Strange -is the film meticulously adherent to the original story? No. But if you're like me and waited a lifetime to see these character come to life onscreen then you're in luck, Dr. Strange will not disappoint.Read full review
