I had two babies in two years and was just trying to get out of my maternity clothes. I started with light weight exercises but decided I needed to increase my cardio fitness too. I chose Kathy Smith because I remember my mom using her videos back in the '80's. Since she's still around she must be good, right? I read some other reviews and noticed that serious exercise enthusiasts found her to be to easy, so I thought "that's for me!" I was not disappointed. Great workout! Not too hard for us beginner's, Kathy's cues and directions are pretty clear, and the steps are not difficult (I am not graceful and it did take me a few sessions before getting some of the moves down). I think this was a great purchase and will buy another Kathy Smith DVD once this one is no longer a challenge!
I adore Kathy Smith. I own multiple exercise tapes she has produced over the years and have kept in shape using them. This is not my favorite mostly because it's higher impact and harder on my joints and back than I am now able to tolerate. Upside is it doesn't require any equipment-just follow along. I also didn't recognize the packaging because it is different than an identical tape I already owned and had a 2006 date so I thought it was a new production. The actual workout is from a few years ago and I already own it as a video tape. Had I known it was the same workout, I would not have purchased it.
I love this Kathy Smith workout--I had it in VHS and had to upgrade to DVD when we got rid our our video player. It's a good workout when you're short on time (it's only 20 minutes) but it has 2 different workouts so you can combine them if you have more than half an hour and have the choice of which one you want to do. Kathy Smith's workouts are always good and she also shows you different levels if you prefer high or low impact. It's a good investment to add to your workout library!!
I bought this video to give me an alternative, short workout on the days I had less time for exercise. It had two 20 minute workouts with high and low cardio versions. Once you get the routine in one or two time throught the video, they are great. There isn't a downside that I can see. Great purchase!
kathy smith is my girl and all but i feel like she dropped the ball on this one. she does a totally intense aerobic workout with her team but i feel like i'm in that one video 'lets get physical' from a long time ago with that blonde chick with the sweatband on her head cuz all of the moves are completely dated and old, and not old in a good way, old in a bad way.
