    Is what it says, but could be better

    This is a difficult one to review because I can't say it isn't what it's advertised to be, but that doesn't make it a good CD. There is no question that it IS authentic Spanish guitar music, but in my opinion, it is still lacking. First, it is recorded in mono and while there are no pops and hisses one may find on older recordings, it suffers from that drawback. Second, it is not very melodious, which is really what I was looking for; there are performances by individuals or small groups, but they are very bald with little to no dressing that an ensemble provides. If what you are looking for is the sound of authentic Spanish guitar without anything else, you may like this CD. If you are looking for something more melodious which incorporates Spanish guitar as part of the whole, you ...
