Pretty close, with the laptop being a little better. There are several adjustment buttons, for brightness, volume, contrast. Very tiny buttons, and I have not gone through all of them, but they work. This works with the included USB-C AC adapter, but I tried this with my Sabrent powered hub and it works just fine, so maybe no need to use up another AC port, just make sure you are using a powered port.
