Contacted the seller and the responses were quite nonsensical. They said "the virgin box does not have an audio output/input so if you were to use the box with no TV, there would be no sound coming out of it." And " The volume and mute button only work with the Tv not the box. the box dont have speakers"??? It fully controls the box itself, for example, changing channels, navigating menus, and accessing recordings. However, the volume and mute buttons are meant to control your TV, not the TIVIO box. For them to work, the remote would need to be programmed to communicate with your specific TV model. Unfortunately, this replacement remote does not have the ability to be programmed to control your TV.
