Two CD digipak edition features the new stereo album mix, sourced from the original session tapes and 10 bonus tracks including three previously unreleased songs - 'Scarlet', 'All The Rage', and 'Criss Cross'. Goats Head Soup was released in August 1973 by Rolling Stones Records. Goats Head Soup was recorded in Jamaica, the United States and the United Kingdom and mixed in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The album contains 10 tracks, including the lead single "Angie" which went to #1 in the United States. The album was the last to be produced by Jimmy Miller who was a key architect of The Rolling Stones sound during their most acclaimed period which began with 1968's Beggars Banquet. Goats Head Soup received positive reviews and achieved number one chart positions in the UK, US, and several other world markets.

    Marvelous

    Great underrated album with some of the Stones richest compositions. Big surprise is that the outtake disc is great too, showing the band at a musical highpoint after Exile. Piano demo of Jagger's 100 years ago is just fantastic. A real gift to classic Stones fans.

    Horrible sound quality

    The sound quality is HORRIBLE! I don't know how much care was put into this project, but it sounds just horrible, very flat with no presence to the music. I will not be buying any more current Rolling Stones cd's. This seems like just a money grab. I wish I could send it back for a refund.

    Earning its due respect

    Great remastering of an album that has gone under the radar for too long. Disc #2 full of great outtakes and unreleased songs, and the bonus disc of "Brussels Affair', considered to be one of their best live shows ever from 1973, makes this a great deluxe release..
