The bike has always been how I get to places. I wanted to see how far I could get. For Anna, a cycling enthusiast, the decision to ride 4,000 miles solo around the coast of the UK wasn't that hard. Following the river from London until it became the sea, then following the sea until it reached the mouth of the Thames again, using well-worn Sustrans routes, was a beautifully simple idea. AUTHOR: Anna Hughes is a freelance cycling instructor, living and working in London. When she's not riding her bike she is busy writing articles for magazines, including Women's Cycling, and giving talks about her cycling exploits. This is her first book. SELLING POINTS: Anna is one of the first women in the UK to have completed the roundcoast ride solo. The author has a strong public platform from which to promote the book she has a large network of cycling friends, both on and offline and has contacts at the national cycling organisation Sustrans. Anna also speaks about her cycling adventures at travel events and schools.
