      Great platformer, even better than the one it's based off of!

      This game tries to convert the gameplay of the SNES original into an 8-bit format, and I think it succeeded in that. For example, you can still bash baddies in the nose and do rolling jumps midair, it's simple but effective. But, I do think the gameplay here is better than DKC; the SNES game had this problem where there were secrets that you would never find without a guide, and Donkey Kong Land actually remedies that, like sure there were a few bonus rooms that were well hidden, but I was able to find all of its secrets on my own. For these reasons, I think DKL is more fun than DKC. The graphics are great for Game Boy, however I don't think it fits well for the original GameBoy; sometimes a rope or enemies merge with the too detailed background. I would recommend playing it on a Game ...

      GB platformer from 1995

      Classic GB platformer. Using lots of pre-rendered graphics to give a souped-up feel to the old GB. Possibly, this game is mostly known for having a yellow cartridge shell.
