This movie is pretty engaging if you are into the serial killer type movies like Hannibal, although this movie is way more artistic and visual. The characters have you take a good look at how these types of people can be created in an extreme way and how you still can have compassion for them even when they do horrible things. Everyone was a child once and innocent in their own way. It's a good watch! So watch it.

Disc would not play. Full of scratch. Broken case was rattling loose in package. Guessing that's what caused the scratches. If you would put alittle scotch tape to hold the disc stationary it wouldn't come loose. Just a suggestion.

A younger Jennifer Lopez gave a lovely, thoughtful performance; she wore some cute clothes in this movie, and some cute shoes and her hair was just darling. Props to the costume department! Anyway, I thought The Cell gave us a very interesting look into what the inner workings of the mind of a sociopath might be. Who knows for sure, but sick humans could possibly be this deranged and off the track. I remember being terrified the first time I saw it and after I was able to watch it a couple times with both eyes open, I thought it was interesting to watch how, thru childhood abuse, a psycho was born. I enjoyed the crazy special effects. Both Vinces were good- Vaughn (in a serious role...who knew?) and D'Onofrio, the sickie who lived on aspirin and pain.
The Cell is quite simply an incredible motion picture, straddling several genres while forging an identity uniquely its own. The concept of mind-linking is a little futuristic, but the plot remains strong and believable from start to finish. The acting is terrific, especially on the part of Jennifer Lopez and Vincent D'Onofrio. The visual effects are stunning, intricately detailed, and mesmerizing, to say the least. In terms of content, the movie can be disturbing and perhaps horrifying to some individuals, but there is nothing I would characterize as gratuitous gore. Besides the sheer beauty of this film, I was greatly impressed by the symmetry of the presentation; this applies to single scenes as well as the movie as a whole. There is certainly a lot of material here for horror fans to love, and some viewers probably will not fall in love with the movie the way I did, but lovers of well-made movies will find themselves mesmerized by this cinematic masterpiece.Read full review
While not a great fan of Jennifer Lopez, I enjoyed her in this movie. The casting was fabulous, no more than Vincent D'Onofrio, who I couldn't take my eyes off of. His performance as a tortured inner child damaged from a life of orthodox religion and child abuse was rivoting. This movie reflects a reality, which is that each and every one of us still has a version of ourselves as a child living inside of us. The more dysfunctional the inner child, the more dysfunctional the adult's life.
