F1 2010 is a good game. I'm really enjoying it, and can hardly get my boyfriend to let go of the steering wheel. So what's the problem? This game is built for Games for Windows Live, which looks to me like it is no longer active. That meant that I had to spend most of a weekend trying to get this thing to work like it's supposed to. If it wasn't for online forums where gamers share information, I'd still be fighting it. My point is that games should be fun, not a hoop that you have to jump through to get it to work. The problem with Steam and Windows Live is that we, the consumer, are at the mercy of the company running the server. If they quit, we're sunk. We should have control, not the company. I know they need to have a decent return on investment to continue to make money, but we still need to have control. Right now, it's pretty difficult to give away a game that's Steam and it's hard to get a Windows Live game to work right. It should work like paperback books. The publisher makes money off the people who buy the new copy, then it gets traded, sold, or given away at the original buyer's discretion. My boyfriend and I like these games, but I'm not buying any more Windows Live or Steam games. I won't waste the money. If we all do that, we will regain control of the material we have purchased.Read full review
