A must have for anyone dealing with network cabling
Came new in box, everything works great. Upgraded from a simpler wiremap tester. I highly recommend the kit with the additional terminals unless you like running around, testing one cable at a time... The toner works pretty well - even with wires connected to a non-poe switch. Unfortunately, my office is almost entirely PoE because of desk phones and when you connect it to a desk phone, the toner goes off about 5 feet away from the cable so it's not terribly helpful when connected to a poe switch. However, I have a port scanner that will tell me the switch name and port I'm connected to so I can quickly find the other end of the cable in this situation. I was having trouble with a camera I installed. I used the test feature on this and it passed 100 Mb test but failed 1000 Mb. One of ... Came new in box, everything works great. One of my connector ends looked a little rough so I cut the end off and crimped another one on and bingo - all tests passed. If I only had a wiremap tester, I wouldn't have found this issue - I was getting NEXT from RJ45 connector. I've since stopped using pass-through connectors as I think having all those wires directly exposed next to each other (and in the elements for an outside camera) is asking for trouble. It was more than I wanted to spend but after seeing it in action, I have no regrets whatsoever.
