Love Koontz, but still hesitant at first...
I have been reading Dean Koontz for many years. Yes, I'm old enough to have read his early books when they first came out..lol. I picked a copy of this up at the library and thought, "What the heck...it's not his usual genre, but I'll give it a try". Anyone who has read Koontz is familiar with Trixie. I felt like I knew her just from seeing her with him on the jackets of his books. Well, I didn't expect to be wowed by this book. Yes, I love dogs, but I thought this would be another "aren't dogs great?" books. So not true...this book made me belly laugh out loud, and cry like I just put my own fur baby to sleep. You will grow to know and love Trixie as much as her papa did. Sappy? Not at all. Koontz knows how to draw you in...you know this if you've read him. You won't be sorry.
