What a great looking cover. Magazine took about 2 1/2 weeks to arrive to the US from the UK and was well packaged. Magazine was shipped in a box to satisfy his customer and arrived as described in good condition. Extremely happy with the purchase. Very friendly, trusted and professional OVERSEA'S seller. A+++. Thanks once again for another outstanding old Geographic Mag. Rather the worse for wear on the front cover, being so old, but it is stuffed with wonderful things, and we love it... Arrived along with other items, superbly packaged, as is usual with this seller. Fast delivery. Excellent communication. A really brilliant seller..most highly commended.

    Great story written badly

A great story written badly.... So much more could have been done with this story... And a different author

  • Disappointing!

I think the fact this book, although perhaps having a decent story to relate, was disappointing, has more to do with Ken Scott than Horace Greasley himself. A better writer could perhaps have conveyed the thoughts and language of the men involved without having to continuously fill every conversation with vile language and describe every sexual encounter in quite such a juvenile manner. It became tedious and really detracted and spoilt what might have been an interesting story.

  • Down-to-earth story of one man's wartime experience as fresh-faced kid who learns about life in the war

It is written in the 3rd person and about Horace's pre-war time at home with his siblings and then during the war and post war - it is more interesting and well written than I first thought and I cannot now put it down! The way it is written is gripping and how I heard about it was through a work connection; it really is a good read !
