Some Heroes Never Grow Old
26 years after Lech Walesa's stand against the Soviet Union's grasp on satellite Bloc countries, half of Pink Floyd (under the David Gilmour moniker) performs at Solidarity's 'Ground Zero', the Gdansk Shipyards, to commemorate the event and treat the people there to some especially tasty Floyd tunes, as well as David's solo offerings. All in all, the band creates an atmosphere of nostalgia, blended with contemporary themes and nuances to make this a performance no true Floyd fan can forget. In my opinion, the two standouts here are "Echoes" and "Astronomy Domine": the former is just a shade less magnanimous than the Royal Albert Hall version but still shines brightly, while the latter stands out as the supreme post-Syd-Barrett version. This also marks one of the last performances of late Floydian Richard Wright and clearly showcases his genius and greatness in spite of his 'George Harrison' stature in the band. This is nothing less than a stellar performance, far and away better than most other concert compilations out there which usually rely on good clips from various performances. This is one venue, uncut, no mediocrity here whatsoever. It is art, poetry, a masterpiece. The rock groups of today have much to learn from the acts of yesteryear, from those who were scorned because they were thought to be traitors to their jazz roots. Over time, it has been clearly demonstrated that the jazz roots of rock are firmly anchored into the soil of world's society and culture, and show no signs of being torn out anytime soon, unlike most 'rock' acts of this day. Groups such as Pink Floyd can take pride in knowing that their contributions are perennial, even eternal. Time has no intent of relegating them as forgotten, and we should be grateful for that. This CD/DVD compilation serves well to keep the music--and the memories--alive.

Stunning follow-up to the royal albert hall release
This ia a beautiful follow-up to Live at Royal Albert Hall, Dave and the band are spot on, great versions of solo and Floyd songs. Highly recommend to any Floyd fan. I got a great price on this and am very pleased to add to my collection.

Feed your head
Absolutely an Amazing experience - etherial noise that feeds the head! Gilmour = guitar god. A must have for your collection. Marooned and High Hopes and Comfortably Numb are just a few of the gems of this CD. The DVD is just as awesome!
