Great place to start...and finish. This book is written as though Bill was sitting down and chatting with you over a cup of coffee. Leslie Diamond does a great job of organizing and editing without changing the message or taking away from the verbage so unique to Bill. If you can apply all of what Bill is trying to show you...you are on your way to being a horseman. No matter what your level of riding...this book offers a lot if you are prepared to work on yourself as hard as you work on your horse. This isn't about gimmicks, fads, or buying something else. This book is Bill's legacy and something as important as that should never be diluted by slick marketing and promotion. The book speaks for itself.
First of all, I love the details and experiences of a life time. There is a lot to learn here, but I am already reaping the rewards. Second, Dorrance really knows what he's talking about and is so willing to share. This is a really good book; some may have a hard time getting through all the "words" but it is so reminiscent of some old folks I knew that I find it very comfortable. Most of all, my three horses now approach me when I enter the field to "play" with them and we are seeing rapid progress.
This book is written very soulfully and in that spirit conveys the actual horse- human spiritual connection makes horses such great companions and work-play mates. For anyone who has experienced this connection, reading this book is community; for those who have not, reading this book becomes desire.
A great book! Bill Dorrance has a wonderful way to explain things. He was a great horseman, wish I would have met him.Wonderful book EVERY horseperson should read!
I think that this book is a great book and it was hard to find on the outside but not on this site, thanks for the book.
