I liked the book. My Mom read it and cried through the whole thing, she said. Although written by a teacher, it is not that well put together, however, it will keep you reading from page to page. I read it mainly because my best friend and mentor knew Irene and her husband personally for many years. She suggested it to me. I am glad she did. This woman went through a lot. The saddest thing to me, which is not in the book, is that at the end of her life she was bedridden for about a year. Being bedridden after being so active and going through so much was a tragedy in itself, I felt. This can easily be read in an afternoon. Hope this helps!
