The third STAR TREK series concerns Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks), commander of the starship Deep Space Nine, who discovers the first known stable wormhole--a virtual shortcut through space that leads from the Alpha Quadrant to the Gamma Quadrant on the other side of the galaxy. The Gamma Quadrant is governed by the Dominion, a group led by the Changelings--an group of shapeshifters which counts DS9 crew member Odo (Rene Auberjonois) among its numbers. The Dominion has become a violent force in the galaxy, and the Deep Space Nine and its crew has become the only hope in upholding the way of life established by the Federation. This 6-Disc set includes all nineteen episodes from the first season.

    A Different Star Trek world.

    Jean-Luc goes searching for new civilizations, but in DS9 new civilizations find their way to the station. Coping with a myriad of different humanoids and cultures makes for a very different situation and the need to cope with peoples sometimes at odds.

    deep space a little closer

    the beginning of a good series of star trek. it all starts with this. if you want more of a description than that look some where else though. its the first season of a series so its a bit shaky, it relies a bit on cameos, the characters are a bit undefined compared to later seasons but thats to be expected. still a good one, especially to start off the series or see how it started. and hey its star trek.

    Star Trek Deep Space Nine

    I bought this as a birthday present for my son, so am unable to give a critical review. However, if the fact that he has rushed home from work to watch a bit more every day since it arrived is anything to go by, it must be very good!!
