Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in CD Players & Recorders
For the foreseeable future a niche will remain for dedicated CD changers for audiophiles with significant CD music collections. Playback using DVD or Blue Ray players is not a quality alternative to 200 bit CD processors. Unfortunately the choices for midrange CD changers has become limited. Prices have come down but so has quality of construction and level of support by manufacturers compared to just a few years ago. Digital music now dominates the market. It permits massive compact music storage and special effect gimics but at the cost of qaulity of sound reproduction. Super CD players were an impressive technologic advance but sources for super CD recordings have now essentially disappeared. The Yamaha CD-C600 is a reasonable mid-range choice for a dedicated five disc 200 bit CD changer. On the upside Yamaha has finally added digital MP3 playback capability but they also provides a direct play feature for the music purist. On the downside the unit's controls are more complicated and frankly less versatile than Yamaha's older CD changers. Some functions are now accessible only through the remote control. Overall I beleive the machine is comparable to the Denon DCM 390 but at has a slight price advantage. Overall the Yamaha CD-C600 is a good but not perfect CD changer. For my needs it was the best buy for the money. I am satisfied with my purchase. SandorRead full review
This is a great CD player. So far, I don't have any major complaints. The sound is good, and I like the sleep feature that lets it rest without shutting it down completely. The two drawbacks are these: 1) the buttons are a little hard to read, and 2) it doesn't let you exchange a disc while it is playing another one.

The Yamaha CD-C600 5-disc CD Changer is an outstanding product for the price. It holds 5 discs for play and allows changing discs while one continues to play. Sound quality is excellent due to Yamaha's Pure Direct technology. Operate manually or with remote. Easy set up. Couldn't be happier

I chose this CD changer from that of Onkyo and Sony. The box shows that this unit was produced last year (2018). Though compared with the two, this unit costs a bit more, yet I think I have made the right choice from the moment I operated it. It's silent in operations with a good display panel and it produces all the details of music of my CDs excellently.

The last cd changer Yamaha made and one of the last made by anyone. It adds the feature of USB input play, must be mP3 files or WMV files. Will not play iTunes m4a files. The unit holds 5 cds in a carousel tray. The display readout is bigger than the 697 was and easier to read. Has either RCA or toslink outputs in back, also remote control and RS232 hookups. Plays cds very well and with cd direct option. May be out of production, all sources have it on backorder indefinitely. Yamaha doesn't look like they will resupply anyone.
