Boardwalk Empire Intregue
The Boardwalk Empire series is based around the true story of the criminal elements that were active around the time of the growth of Atlantic City. It also seeks to explore the relationships between Atlantic City gangsters such as Enoch Thompson and others in New York and Chicago, such as Arnold Rothstein, Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, and others. It seeks to delve into possible crosses and double crosses between the various gangsters for the control of illegal alcohol distribution. There are also some fictional characters such as Jimmy Darmody who play a big role in the series, mixing reality with fiction to some extent. The Acting is superb and the wardrobe captures the fashions of the 1920's particularly well. As the cautions on the covers warn there is explicit nudity and sex scenes but ... The Boardwalk Empire series is based around the true story of the criminal elements that were active around the time of the growth of Atlantic City. It also seeks to explore the relationships between Atlantic City gangsters such as Enoch Thompson and others in New York and Chicago, such as Arnold Rothstein, Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, and others. The violent scenes are quite graphic but not overdone. All in all, it is a gripping series with many twists and turns and contains many surprise endings for characters. The ending of the series is unknown, making it most interesting viwing.
