Horrible creatures,excellent storyline, just what I luv
The Silent Hill series has always had a unique feel that draws you into another world. And with its horrifyingly disgusting creatures, excellent characters, and a plotline that twists and turns, what's not to love. So why not make a movie based on the videogame. The movie ends just as abruptly as it begins. We are immediately drawn into the world of Silent Hill before we realize, as we see a mother (Radha Mitchell)named Rose and her husband (Sean Bean)Christopher searching frantically for their adopted daughter Sharon (Jodelle Ferland). Rose's maternal instinct kicks in and she saves the child from uncertain death. Sharon says the words "Silent Hill" right then Rose decides that she will not watch her daughter continue to suffer and decides that the best thing for Sharon is to go ... The Silent Hill series has always had a unique feel that draws you into another world. The music is beautifully melancholy and frightening. The plotline is not original but I am well pleased that it was done so well. As a gamer I cringe hearing the words "movie based off a videogame" not because they are all horrible but that because they rarely cannot stand without the game they are based off of. Silent Hill manages to do that. You don't have to be a gamer to get engrossed into the movie and yet it has all the elements from the game series to satisfy most gamers. So here is my review score. Music: 5/5 Characters/Cast: 5/5 Plotline: 4/5 Special Effects: 5/5 Set Design: 5/5 Overall: 5/5 This movie is a rare gem among its kind. A must have for horror and game fans alike. *shivers* Just thinking about those nurses creeps me out.

Excellent movie, graphics, character development, plot, etc. The only issue I have with the story lies in the ending. It doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense although one would argue that it does. Definitely a must-watch for horror fans. The graphics are incredible and most certainly convincing (unlike some horror films... actually, most).
