Hinokuni-go, an intercity express bus operated jointly by West Japan Railway Company and Kyushu Sanko Bus, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2022. In 1962, the Hinokuni-go started operating as a limited express bus via National Route 3, connecting Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture and Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Kyushu's longest history of highway bus, and as of 2022 there are three routes running 162 on weekdays and 170 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, which is a very frequent highway bus.
