I have the very same cookbook that belonged to my deceased mom, minus the "most important" family recipe that my mom was neighborhood and family famous for. I've used this cookbook all my life; I taught myself to cook using this book. It has easy to follow instructions, easy to obtain ingredients, and the recipes are wonderful. If you follow the easy instructions you will be able to bake yeast bread from scratch very easily. And baking bread has been difficult for many good cooks. This cookbook makes it easy--just be sure your yeast is fresh! My kids all have a copy of this cookbook.
