Buying this, I was not fully aware of several caveats. Nevertheless, it all seems to have worked out for my usage and I am fully enjoying the item. First of all, I bough this for desk-based streaming to my SONY MDR-1000X or SONY WH-1000XM4; ended up gifting the former to kids, so streaming to XM4 which does not have AptX but does LDAC. Sound Quality is superb! I might just stop there, since that was the goal - use PC and music in a sometimes busy living room, whereas retaining freedom to move around the house should I need to. It has been achieved fully, at the expected level of enjoyment (thanks Qobuz). Now the caveats. The box does not have a separate USB chip, it uses CSR chip for USB which makes LDAC TX impossible when input is USB, for LDAC TX the only option SPDIF. Which is exactly my case since I run a PC with SPDIF and even bought the optical cable beforehand. Second caveat is "no LDAC/AptX with two-devices pairing". Well this is expected since SONY behaves in the same way, if you want a 2-point connectivity you're limited to AAC+SBC and no higher codecs. I use 1:1 pairing and no dramas, sound is full bassy and vinyl-like (eat that, Apple) Another things is you need a USB port to power this up, there is no separate DC connector. I use two devices on same desk - my home Workstation (with SPDIF) and work Laptop (Surface Laptop 3). I have recently bought a Surface Dock, and I run the Fiio BTA30 off the back of Surface Dock in terms of power. Luckily for me, this becomes a nice dual-combo since same headphones can be playing off Home Desktop, or Work Laptop now - without any cabling changes! Since work lappy is connected over USB, it goes into AAC mode automatically, but I use Spotify on work PC so no need for LDAC anyway. And, by the way, Spotify sounds very, very (i insist) very nice in this config - perhaps SONY DSEE Extreme is doing it's thing. So overall - very happy, once I have set it up to Auto-Power-On using Fiio Control smartphone app, no need to tinker with power on button. Full enjoyment off two devices, no SONY smartphone needed, I can game and hear the music at the same time. (I have also tried it as a DAC for Ruark MkII speakers but often they fail to detect signal and power themselves on, plus headphones sound better.) BTA30 is Highly Recommended.Read full review

Using Spotify thru Wi-Fi streaming in the "Very High" setting, to a older (cheap) Samsung Galaxy J2 phone, which has LDAC and Dolby Atmos, out via Bluetooth v4.2, into the FiiO BTA300 then RCA cables to the AUX inputs of my vintage 1974 Yamaha CR-1000 receiver and listening on Polk RTA 11t speakers. For under $100 for the FiiO and $79 for the Galaxy J2 (refurbed). you can get sound that Audiophiles of the world would snub their noses at but everyone else on planet Earth would enjoy immensely.
