As soon as I placed the order the seller contacted me. That was a pleasant surprise, he let me when the lens would be arriving and if it didn't arrive on time to inform him immediately. It arrived on time and in perfect condition, it was well packaged and the item I purchased was in mint condition as advertised. Very happy!

    Great lens for certain needs.

Got this lens for the extreme wide angle. It does what I need it to do. If on 10mm it almost surrounds you in wide angle, but distorted as fisheyes do. At 17mm inside there is still some distortion, so be aware of this. Landscape shots at 17mm wouldn't show this as much. I got it for fun more than anything else. Build is very good, nice weight, and very solid, Small lens as many Pentax lenses seem smaller than their counter parts in Tamron, or Sigma for instance. The only draw back is that there are no filter threads so you will need to figure out something else if you need filters, but it can be done. Cokin filters can be handheld, but in 10mm it's hard not to catch your fingers. The little permanent hood protects the lens and may help somewhat in cutting flare, but a bigger hood would ...

  • A tank

Bought to use for 360 pano work. It stitches gracefully in PT GUI. A versatile albeit heavy zoom. Can be unbalanced if you do pole panos. Worth shaving lens hood to get a bigger circle of coverage on off cam. Resistant to lens flare. CA and fringing evident but correctable. Infinity focus is good but I back it off a bit. Images may appear a tad soft but careful sharpening does wonders. Very good value for a fisheye zoom though it needs some pp work.

  • A very useful lens when you need

I don't need a super quality lens, but at least an adequate snapshooter. This one is compact, has a usable wide angle range. The lens distortions that are characteristic of the type correct well with Adobe lens profiles in Photoshop CC and Lightroom. I regret I waited so long to get one. Attached pic shot at 10mm with predictable results but the distortion can be tamed.

  • Back to my first (camera) love

My very first camera, back in 1984, was a Pentax K-1000. It was the most basic SLR you could buy. Literally thousands of Kodachrome images were taken by it in the subsequent years. I purchased a used Minolta system in the early 90's, thinking I could upgrade. It was never that great of a camera, and I always defaulted back to my Pentax. When my wife and I finally made the move to digital, we went with a Minolta, thinking I could use all of the lenses I had for the Minolta already. I did not do my homework as the lens mount had changed, rendering all of them useless. When the Minolta's shutter went out last year, I finally came back to my first love: Pentax. With both a K-3 II and now a K-1 body, I've been adding in some new lenses, and this one does not disappoint. Sharp, clear ...

  • Fun, decent quality, zoom fisheye.

Lens quality is on par with Pentax DA (non L) kit lenses. The only difference is it's heavier (probably because of the huge front element and metal built-in lens hood), and it focus' internally. I had never used a fisheye/ultrawide angle lens before this one, so I don't know what to look for comparatively regarding image quality. My eye thinks the IQ is great. There is some purple fringing towards the edges of the image, but I hear this is normal with fisheyes. It's also not hard to get rid of with computer software. A few things to keep in mind... Because of the built in hood, you cannot connect normal screw-on filters. Also to get the full effect of the fisheye, you need to get really close to your subject, like almost touching the glass close (luckily it lets you ...
