About this product

Product Information

About The Awful I was bored on the 9th of Octover 1940 when, I believe, the Nasties were still booming us led by Madolf Heatlump (who only had one). Anyway they didn't get me. I attended to varicous schools in Liddypol. And still didn't pass -- much to my Aunties supplies. As a member of the most publified Beatles my (P, G, and R's) records might seem funnier to some of you than this book, but as far as I'm conceived this correction of short writty is the most wonderfoul larf I've every ready. God help and breed you all.

Reviews
"Worth the attention of anyone who fears for the impoverishment of the English language and the British imagination." - The Times Literary Supplement, "Lennon's marvelously clever In His Own Write was the surprise literary sensation of 1964....you get Lennon's biting humor and brilliant puns: Lewis Carroll as rock star." - Tampa Tribune, "[Features] a wit and love of words that recall[s] Joyce and fanciful drawings some compare to Thurber." - Hartford Courant (Connecticut), " In His Own Write features the same sort of surreal turns of phrase that insinuated themselves into late-period Beatles classics such as 'Come Together' and 'Strawberry Fields Forever.'" - San Francisco Chronicle, "Fascinating. . . It goes down like pure whimsy and then back-kicks like a sick mule." - The Sunday Times, "Lunatic humor. . . Zany, offbeat, and illustrated by his grotesque and spidery pen. It jolts the reader into gusts of laughter." - The Guardian

  • John Lennon's Novel "In His Own Write"

There are only a few things I can say about this book to sum it up. First of all, I'm a HUGE fan of The Beatles and John Lennon. So when I first saw this item was for sale, I had to GET IT. There was no exceptions. I recommend it to any fan of John Lennon or The Beatles. It's really a great collectible I think! I've been collecting Beatle items for ages now myself, and so it'll add on just great. But anyway back to the novel, its witty, creative and full of awesome drawings by non-other than Lennon himself. I personally enjoy art so it was a bit of a winner for me from the start. And if your the sort of person who enjoys to read something weird, interesting, and just straight up catchy...it's this book. My cousins have all read it, along with some of my close friends, and they all seem to ...

  • John Lennon in His Own Write, The Writing Beetle

I love this book, especially the drawings. My book say; The Writing Beatle! on the cover. Mine says Simon and Schuster New york 1964, Rockefeller Center Twelfth Printing. It's so cool to have and be able to show my children the kid like drawings of a grown-up that was so famous. You can be anything you want to be. Take a look. My oldest likes the letter of Introduction that tells about John and signed by Paul. Great buy. IbeliveinHim4ever@yahoo.com
