So lets get this out of the way, yes the Sony RX100 is a better overall compact, enthusiast camera, I'm not putting the XQ1 above it. The RX100 however is about $250 more than the XQ1 so in the sub $250 price range, this is the best compact enthusiast camera out there. The image quality is fantastic, the power-on and shutter response time are lightning quick. You have the RAW file format available as well as the ability to control exposure manually. The control ring is nice and fluid with just enough stiffness that you won't adjust it without meaning to do so. Shooting monochrome with this camera is a wonderful experience. Whatever algorithm Fuji uses to process monochrome leaves rich tones when you've got your exposure right. On the down side the zoom is a little short at 100mm and the battery life is a little short. So why does it still get four stars from me? It's a compact camera, I don't need the reach from a camera like this, I use it more for street/documentary style shooting. If I need length, I'll want something I can shoot wide open at high shutter speeds and opt for a DSLR. I don't think the focal length limits the ability of this camera. As for the battery life, I typically carry a spare or two for any camera I walk around with and spares for this camera are readily available for little money. The only other knock (and it's really not a knock at this price) is the drop off in Aperture as you zoom; it's pretty quick. While you have 1.8, it's only wide open at the widest focal length a quickly jumps to 4.9. I'm ok with those trade-offs at this price. I would say if you had $450-$500 to spend, grab the Sony as it is everything this Fuji is plus it doesn't have the short comings listed here with the Fuji. However if this is the top of your budget, don't overthink it; you'll make beautiful photos with this camera.Read full review

I bought the camera hoping it would have better image quality than the Sony RX100, but unfortunately, it is not. Some noise present at base ISO viewed at pixel level. Speed is better than RX100, but autofocus is very picky (erratic). Its video quality is especially bad, far from its competition. Microphones are OK but the video is very fuzzy (autofocus hunting). Perhaps poor firmware or the product, or the lens is inaccurate or slow. This may be faulty manufacturing of the diodes used to track contrast and subject. This is especially true in bright conditions. Maybe the f/1.8 is not appropriate given the setup of its algorithms. Picture quality is below par, so I give it two stars. Features is average. Did not take a lot of time to learn them because I simply do not like this camera. Three stars. The one thing that gets five stars is its build quality, almost entirely of metal body, and although not very lightweight because of that, it is durable. Smaller than RX100, respectively. Value for money is average. Considering the limitations compared to the RX100 (considerably more expensive), it comes out average; three stars. Recommended? If you own RX100, there is no reason to buy XQ1. In spite of its speed, its ability to focus and expose properly are things to be desired. Fuji was better in the film days, and that probably will not change. Maybe next time. Thanks for reading. This is my first review on eBay.Read full review
I have not used the camera very much yet. When it was used there was no problems, very easy to use.

Very compact, quick responce and excellent camera.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
