Do your best to defeat the infamous Dr. Wily in Mega Man 2. This 1989 Nintendo Entertainment System platform game builds on the gameplay of its predecessor while adding several new game enhancements. Mega Man 2 includes an innovative password system. You can bypass the Robot Masters you have already beaten. Each time you finish a level, you get a new password, which allows you to start at the beginning of the next stage. You can even heal your character with the Energy Tank. Sealed copies are still popular with collectors. It should work with many NES clone consoles as well. You could always pop it in for another shot at Dr. Wily.The best part is that you can play Megaman 2 whether or not you've played the other games in the series. The controls are intuitive, so you can just pick this game up and play. It's more fun than ever to improve your Nintendo rating. Wily will have plenty of opponents for you no matter what stage you decide to start on.Megaman 2 on the NES features English text and instructions and plays natively on American systems. This NES release features special North American box art, which isn't available anywhere else but on this product. The fact that Capcom decided to use radically different art for the Nintendo box makes Megaman 2 a unique addition to your NES collection. You might want to display your Mega Man game facing front so you can admire the painting on the cover.The story in the second of the Mega Man games is just as unique. Rather than simply playing games with the Blue Bomber, Wily has resurrected an army of evil robots to go after him. Light tells him that he needs to go after these new adversaries not seen in other games. He'll face Bubble Man, Quick Man, Air Man, Metal Man, Crash Man, Flash Man, Wood Man, and Heat Man.When you start a new game, you can head to whatever stage in Mega Man 2 you'd like to. Even if you don't have a password, you could still select whichever stage you want. The screen will flash after you press start and will give you an NES stage select menu. The stage select function will ensure you'll have fun with this Capcom game for a long time. If you want to enjoy all the arcade action on stage 2, then you're allowed to select it first. It also means you can pick up a game of Mega Man at any time.You can also head back to the first stage after you've defeated Wily for another shot at him. Perhaps you've been collecting Nintendo cartridges for a long time. On the other hand, Mega Man 2 might be your first game. In either case, you'll be sure to play this NES cartridge even when you have hundreds of them. Mega Man is one of the retro series that built the Nintendo platform.
