      Great movie

      Enjoyed the story of an American Naval hero in the Revolutionary War. Realistic filming of battle scenes given the era in which it was made.

      Not historically accurate, but very entertaining

      A fine production. True, it has historical inaccuracies and what we now call anomalies, but overlook those if you can. It does, at times, bug a historian like myself. The film is from 1958.59. Films were made more to entertain than to educate so something like this was quite common for filmgoers all over. Enjoy the spectacle. Relish the adventure. Be amazed by the action. It's all good.
