    A fun movie that makes a lot of sense

    This is a very stylish 1934 Warner Bros. movie that held my attention without any effort at all. Ricardo Cortez is definitely into the part and really tries to help Jean Muir with her problem. That is, her identity must be proved to a long-lost brother in order for her to receive a handsome inheritance following the death of her father (who she hasn't seen since she was a child). Of course her brother, who doesn't seem to have appeared in the film until much later, must prove his identity also. A couple of murders take place and we can't seem to figure out who is the guilty party (or parties). There is a beautiful well-trained white cockatoo in the film. It is fun to watch, but this bird doesn't seem to have anything to do with the solution of the crimes. Jean Muir plays a double ...
