      Suspenseful black & white movie

      If you like old-fashioned black & white suspense films, this one is worth a look. It's bad enough that a group of people are being held at gunpoint by escaped convicts in an abandoned village in the Nevada desert; what's worse, an atomic bomb is about to go off nearby. The situation brings out the best and worst in everyone. It's entertaining, but some scenes don't hold up under intense scrutiny. For instance, at the beginning, there are roadblocks preventing access to the bomb-test area. We see military personnel turning everyone back. So how do two cars, one coming from California, manage to reach the ghost town without being noticed?
